Editorial standards Draft

How Eagle’s Cliff Africa reports, credits, corrects and publishes, across Oil Fields of Alkebulan, Alkebulan As Is and everything we produce.

Accuracy

We check facts against primary sources wherever we can. Figures carry their source and date. When a claim cannot be independently confirmed, we say so.

Non-partisan

We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate. We assess policies and institutions on their merits and their results.

Independence

No sponsor, partner or funder reviews our work before it is published. Extractive-sector companies do not fund our coverage of resources.

Crediting other journalists

Our briefings summarise and analyse reporting by other publishers. We name the original publisher, link to the original report and never present another outlet’s reporting as our own.

Use of AI

We may use AI tools to help with research, summaries and first drafts. A named ECA editor reviews, edits and approves everything before it is published, and takes responsibility for it. We do not publish AI-generated images as real photographs.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and add a note to the piece explaining what changed. To report an error, email info@eaglescliffafrica.com with the link and the correction.

Conflicts of interest

Oil Fields of Alkebulan is produced for Eagle’s Cliff Africa by 747 Eagle Plus Studios under a licence agreement. Contributors tell us about any interest that could affect their work.

Contributors

Contributors are held to the same standards as our own writers. Their views are their own and are labelled as opinion where appropriate.
